We are looking for two camera operators to shoot a new competitive, cooking and reality show over the period of two days. Each day will involve following a contestant to the market to videotape them as they purchase their ingredients. Afterwards, we will return to the contestant's house to videotape them as they prepare their signature dish. The day will also include shooting interviews with the contestant and their family
members both in formal, sit-down settings as well as on-the-fly type/run-and-gun interviews. Finally, there will be a judges’ table featuring the contestant’s family and a panel of professional chefs accompanied by beauty shots of the food.
We are aiming to shoot the first contestant on Saturday May 3rd in Long Island and the second contestant Sunday, May 4th in Connecticut. In addition to payment we will also reimburse gas and/or train for travel. We can possibly arrange for car service if necessary. Lunch and dinner will also be supplied. Hired camera operators may opt to use their own cameras; however, we can supply both a DVX100 and an HVX200, audio and lighting packages in addition to one FireStore (NOTE: This will be an SD shoot).
Camera operators will be responsible for shooting Camera A and Camera B respectively. These will serve as our primary source of footage (a third camera may be passed around by producers). Camera operators will also be responsible for gathering and monitoring audio from contestants’ and host’s wireless lavalieres connected to the camera’s XLR jacks. One channel might be a boom mice instead of lav. It’s imperative you are able to shoot well and listen well.
