Hey All,

I'm recording a friend's comedy spot in NYC (Long Island City, Queens) on the night of Wednesday, 9/1, and was wondering if there are any area members with a GH1 out there that want to join and help out as a B Cam.

Low-key, low/no budget shoot, credit and copy and I should be able to throw you a few bucks for expenses. The goal of the shoot is primarily to get some crisp audio for some eventual CD tracks (great sound man donating his time) but I'm taking the opportunity to work out my new(ish) GH1 and hopefully get him a nice video as well. Small team committed, all working pretty much for free, but it's a short gig (6:30-10:30 or so) and should be pretty chill.

So, if you're available and interested, send me a PM with a short note about you and your qualifications and/or interests and I'll get back to you if I think there's a fit. Please list your additional accessories/equipment in addition to the camera. We are likely shooting in available light, so fast lenses are a plus (I'll be working with my small set of FD lenses). I've checked out the light situation and am not too worried and also will probably drag an Omni and a Tota with me. Other than that, it's not a very complex shoot. Probably spice it up with a few inserts of various sorts just to have the footage available for the edit.

Depending on what you have available and on your qualifications, the job would either be just shooting a master shot (static wide on tripod) or possibly some roving with a stabilizer. It's a tight space but there's room for a little creativity.

If it helps sweeten the deal, my day job involves bigger projects and bigger budgets, and I'm a person who appreciates great work and commitment and would absolutely keep you in mind for future paid gigs. Also hope to be working on some other low-budget creative stuff in the near future where the same would apply. I can trade services in many areas of production if you're more experienced and on the fence about wanting to spend the time but think you might use help with something of your someday soon.

I'm a long-time member/reader, even if I don't post as much as I should, and know how intelligent and committed and helpful everyone is...so even though this is essentially a non-paid gig I'm hoping it's somewhat attractive to DVXUsers and am going to hold off a day or two before posting to other sites.

Thanks for your time!

Michael
