I'm a college student with 4 years academic and 3 years work experience in shooting, editing (FCP and Premiere CS4), and general hardware operation. I'm familiar with the DVX-100A/B, PMW-EX1, Canon GL and XL series, and can adapt to any SD or HD camera. Can shoot documentary, interview, event, "run and gun", and film styles.
I'm aware of SxS and AVCHD workflows, and can adapt to P2 easily. I have 4 years experience in Final Cut Pro up to Version 6, and 2 years in Adobe Premiere (CS4). Several years of experience in Photoshop (CS4) for compositing and graphics work, also with basic to intermediate experience in After Effects (CS4) for compositing and motion graphics; chroma keying, wire removal, and light color grading. Minor experience with Illustrator and InDesign, but can learn.
On the video encoding end, I'm well versed in a variety of codecs, formats, and software suites. I've used many freeware tools such as AVISynth and x264, to commercial suites such as Cleaner and Compressor. I'm aware of the limitations and proper usages of most codecs; I have a high understanding of framerates, interlacing, inverse telecine, resolutions, aspect ratios, color depths, color spaces, etc.
Lastly, I'm available part time, mostly for one to two day shoots, but arrangements can be made! I'm located on Long Island, NY, but can easily commute to NYC. My only request is that you or someone else have the equipment, as I have none at the moment!
