Camera Mounted Microphone

[dtketterer]

I am using a DVX100 (old school) and am in the market for a mountable shotgun mic. Given my low budget, I can't really afford to spend more than $250 on this
- does anyone have any recommendations? If you can't call to mind a model number, at least a brand or website that's likely to give a good deal.

Lots of good choices in that price range. ncje is right -- Rode makes some nice mikes also and at a good price.

Get a rode videomic. And stick it on a boom pole whenever possible.

Just a fraction above your price and you wont get better for the money.
