Camera mounted LCD panel.

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

Well, whats the problem with using a step-up DC-changer? I used one before, its small (5x4x3cm), costs around 12 Euros (14$), has a 90% efficency and gets you exactly 13.7V from 7.5V at around 1A (=more than twice the wattage what the T7070 requires). Sorry, just a german link again: http://produktinfo.conrad.com/datenblaetter/175000-199999/191060-as-01-de-dc-spannungswandler.pdf

Other way would be just to try if it runs with 7.5V (could be!).

Or to carry a 20 pound lead battery on your back. ;D

I think I'm going to buy the Yamakawa soon (I'm even more positive since I realized it has a Panasonic panel :D), I'll keep you up to date.

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

yeah, the panasonic panel is a good thing and has higher resolution than the Panny 7". The DC changer is called a step-up DC to DC regulator.  Intersil's new small footprint 7.5 to 12V regulator is talked about on the net but I don't see a product.

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

Yamakawa sent me a reply stating that the T-7070 LCD will be revised with an improved monitor coming out in the Fall. I'd love to wait....but wish I could get the present one. German Amazon will not send the monitor outside of Germany. What a bummer! :'(

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

I just bought a Digimedia 7" LCD for $380 and Bescor battery pack (cigarette adaptor style) $130 and they work great. I was quite disgusted with the cost of the Panasonic 7". The monitor alone is $500 and then you have to purchase a battery or AC adaptor just to power it. Ridiculous. The Digimedia (according to specs) has the same resolution, all the same picture controls (minus black level), and switches between 16:9 and 4:3 (and you can buy it and a battery pack for the same price as the Panasonic alone). Nice... I got mine from B&H.

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

I did a search on B&H's site for Digimedia and got no hits. Are you sure that's the brand name and/or spelling?

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

Digimedia 7"LCD sounds great, but cannot find on B&H, spent 30 mininuts looking for it.

Re: Camera mounted LCD panel.

I use the Marshall LCD Camera at
www.cameracranes.us
They have it with the cranes and their stabilizers.
