Camera mapping tests

Nice work! Its good that you stayed restrained with your camera moves and didnt go for anything too big and crazy. The shot with the big steel door is probably the one that has the biggest issue as you would expect the reflections to move with that camera move, but most people probably wouldn't notice. If your geo is good you could always render yourself a spec pass with a basic lighting setup and an IBL made from a HDRI in the real location...

Anyway, cool work, thanks for sharing! :)

yeah that door shot doesnt look good on my phone, it wasnt as distracting on laptop, theres also issue with focal lenght in it i think, should be a bit wider. Thanks for comments and ill check IBL, had to pass on some pics because of reflections but mayble ill do something about it.Those are my first tests with camera mapping so if someone here have some experience then would be good to chat about it :) Always learning

Yeah reflections are always the tough thing to overcome with projections like this. Its totally possible to create some CG reflections but you have to be familiar with HDRI lighting and rendering, and be able to paint good specular maps. You might also have to UV unwrap the model too although you can do a camera projection of a spec map too if you don't want to UV the model. All in all, its doable if you have a solid understanding of rendering spec / reflection passes and compositing them back with your main camera projection, but its a LOT more work just to get those nice reflections (although in a shot like that door shot they can really make or break the effect) :)

I work in vfx and do this kind of stuff day in day out, so if there is anything you want to know just ask and ill try and help you out. Great to see people embracing these techniques, and again great work on these shots!
