Hi guys. I have question if it happened to anybody with your gh3. Last saturday i was recording wedding and my gh3 just did freeze.nothing worked, i mean one solution to turn it off was to take battery pff the camera. I lost 17 minutes of dancing so it is not big deal but i am worrying what was the reason. Last time it was dancing but what if it happened in church... Wrrrr.
i use transcend class 10 sdhc cards, and never had problems with them. I used original batteries, so everything was like it suppose to be. Have anybody had situation like this with gh3?

Don't know, but wondered if the camera was on a tripod with the sun hitting it; if so, heating may have caused it. Were you using WiFi? I have had camera freezes pushing WiFi use in weird ways. Finally, the SD card may be the culprit; make sure it is formatted prior to any shoot. You should consider doing a Chkdsk in a pc on the card to see if it has errors... Al

My hacked GH2 did it all the time when shooting complex scenes like running water. GH3 is a new one though. What were you shooting specifically and at what bitrate.

Transcend is the only SD card brand that I've had problems with, though this was 4 years ago and for all I know it could have just been one defective card that I purchased. ( this is why I switched to Patriot brand for low cost cards that I still use today )

I would try using another brand of SD card to see if this changes things. SanDisk, Lexar, Kingston are pretty much guaranteed to be high quality, or you might want to try a Patriot EP SDHC / SDXC card. ( my favorite low cost card )

I also recommend that you ALWAYS format every SD card in your camera before you shoot with it, which is a quick last minute check to make sure your card is working properly and that it has room for new footage.

I've had several Transcend cards that started to fail repeatedly, put them in the trash. They were older ones, I sill have several newer ones that work fine.

Get some Lexar or Sandisk cards. The price at B&H Photo isn't bad at all. I'd try that first.
