Not a Special Camera towel per say.. it's actually a golf towel. It is good because it is sewn folded so it creates a little glove for the camera, with a hook on the end to hook to the tripod leg so it doesnt blow off or drop.
could you please post the internal dimension of the new bag?
i have the older bag that they recommended for the dvx-100 and i love it, but i use a mini-rover to add better handheld usability and it is a pain taking it on and off.
my dream bag is to have the dvx-100a with the me66 mounted on the at-8415 shockmount with the mini-rover attached in the bag ready to go.
i have the varizoom, which comes with 2 handy bag things, as well as being a damn sturdy bag that fits in an overhead compartment. i'll post pics if i get a sec.
matthew...the internal dimensions are 10'' deep x 9" wide x 18" long. There is plenty of overhead room if I attach my shotgun mic to the DVX holder...plenty.
Cant remember.. its called a chamois and most film places will have em, as its a must have. keeps the eyepiece dry from your sweat and seals out the light. I dont know how people shoot without them.
Thanks Jarred. I have used them on Arri cameras and didn't even know they made them for digital cameras until I saw yours. They are amazing, although we just popped them off and on with the Arri camera. No gluing involved. I just bought one and can't wait to get it. By the way, what kind of glue did you use?
I just bought a toolbox( rugged polyurathene) from fry's and took the styrofoam container from inside the DVX100A shipping box and it fit perfectly with room to spare for my mic, headphones, tapes, batteries and a few other things. It's like they could have shipped the DVX in the toolbox....perfect fit.($14US).

Also what is the life expectancy of those things they sell them in bulk amounts on the website i see.[/quote]
I assume you mean the eye chamois... normally they pressure fit around the tube of a film camera, the DVX doesnt have a tube but a cup, so you rubber cement them in. Rubber cement isnt permanent so you can remove them easily.
They soak up your sweat, thats the purpose of them, so you replace them when they get really stinky.
