Camera Car Mount?

I've been trying to feel out the market for camera car mounts (to get shots from all angles, inside and outside the moving car).

But I've been having a hard time finding prices for anything, as well as reviews or firsthand accounts of the equipment.

Does anyone have any recommendations / info?

Check out filmtools.com I have several of thier car mounts and really like them.

Thanks man, I was there and found their products intriguing.

And maybe it's just my browser or something but I can't for the life of me find a price there on anything except for individual parts...

You should try to find the one they had in "Children of Men" Where it's a continuos shot all around the car. That would be very good to have and would produce some good shots also....

I'm pretty sure Children of Men used a Doggicam Two-Axis system with a Sparrow Head, which probably costs a whole lot more than Armadillo would be willing to spend. Also, it's all built for 35mm setups, and requires dedicated operators, and the specific rig from CoM required cutting the top off of a car.

Their website may give you some cool rigging ideas though. http://www.doggicam.com/

Knowing what I know now from buying my filmtools car mounts which I do really like but if I had to do it again I'd piece together a kit part by part instead of buying thier kit. The suction cups are 6 inch woods that you can probably source wholesale on the net, I'd buy 5/8 inch carbon fiber rods instead of the stainless steel ones, the grip heads are mathews, I think you can buy impact ones for $15 each chaeper (I have 8 so that would have saved me $120) I'm sure you can find a cheeseplate somewhere or buy thiers. You will need to buy the baby spuds they are like $3 each... Instead of ordering all different sizes of 5/8 inch stainless steel rods you can buy several 36 inch ones from a hardware store for $10 and cut them to the lenght you want with a hack saw... Carbon fiber rods are more expensive but the weight savings will probably let you cut back on one suction cup so that would save you $50 for the cup and $50 for the two grip heads and $6 for the baby spuds ($106). The carbon rods all of a suden aren't that expensive...
