Wow you got to use an A1 for a while then got your money back higher than the current price! You made a return on that investment I'd say! If you don't already have a 35mm adapter I'd say go for the a1 again and put the 700 toward an adapter. If you do I'd say go for the 150.
i rejected the idea of buying such a thing at a place like best buy (pay damn near msrp)...but now i wish i was in your situation....Orchid has a great point...A1+35mm...on your way.
That was another consideration. I figure the extra 700 is almost half off of a sgblade.
By broke I mean the lens was not communicating with the viewfinder or lcd. I could do playback but couldnt see what i was shooting. One way or another, im still coming out ahead.
AVCHD uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264. HDV uses mpeg-2. AVCHD is significantly less lossy. Plus with AVCHD you get the full 1920 width instead of 1440 PAR 1.33. I hate dealing with PAR. I think despite all that its still the same data rate of 24 mb/s. Prolly the biggest bonus is no tapes!!! AVCHD obliterates HDV in every way IMO.
If I were to purchase a new camera, whether the 150 or A1, from where should I buy it? I would want something similiar to the Best Buy service plan that covers accidently damage and defects. So far BH seems to be the victor.
