Cameleon shoulder rig from Shape WLB

Hi,

I bought not so long ago a shoulder rig from Shape and I would like to share my experiences with the Cameleon.

Two things you need to buy additionally: A quick-release plate and back pad weight. The weight is relatively heavy, but it helps to balance the rig. The quick-release plate makes it faster to release the AF100 from the rig. I have the Cameleon mounted on my tripod with the camera on it, when I do not use it.

The Cameleon has a central joint, which allows to turn the camera left or right and walk straight, but filming right or left. I used this feature yesterday when I shot a catholic ceremony. I walked along the line and could filming on the left side the people on the horses. Unfortunately, this scene did not made it into the final cut, because I had the wrong lens on the AF100 (too much tele).

Apropos lenses: In the above mentioned video I used the Lumix X 45-175 mm lens and it was very easy to zoom in and out with the Manfrotto remote mounted on the Cameleon. So here is the mentioned video:

I hope that this information is useful to somebody.
