I'm thinking to invest in either one, both look solid. Not sure if I should go with the North American builds of Pro Aim or the Asian Came-TV product. Both come with ready cases x 2. I imagine both are super smooth. Are there smaller alternatives to these?
I'm even looking for mini versions like the Glidearm 2 or Axler foldable crane. I want to be able to use a really wide lens. These are the only devices that allow me to have a solid fixed position without the rails in the way for the wide angle lenses.
As far as I know they only have two models for either brand, the "Scissors" model vs the "Accordion." The CAME-TV comes with two identical flight cases. The other is just one case but an accessory bag. Most likely I'd buy a roady case for the Pro Aim to have two flight cases. I love these two models tbh and they're about the same price.
I'm even considering and downgrading in length for my linear dolly shots with the C-Pan rig from 9.Solutions. I'm looking for an all inclusive dolly crane rig that REQUIRES me to shoot linear classic dollies with a wide angle. I was never a fan of rails when the industry went small format because basically I could never shoot really wide lenses. I'm thinking I can fork up 1500 dollars for the C-Pan or just double that price and have a complete full size dolly linear extender crane.
What the industry REALLY needs is a Mini version of the flagship retractable cranes. Whichever company does that first is going to be a winner.
