camcorder recommendation

Hi all

I'm looking for a video camera under A$4000 to use for doco work - mostly observational style with some interview stuff.

I currently have a GH4, GoPro and a Canon XF100 - these three give me a good variety of options for different filming situations.

However, as much as I love the XF100 I find a few things frustrating and am looking to upgrade/change this camera

The things I find frustrating are:
  • limited zoom (10x)
  • lack of manual ND filter
  • only one ring - iris is controlled by a small wheel and is a bit laggy
  • menu option selection - a bit clunky using the toggle selector
what I love about it is the form factor, it's small and light, has XLR inputs and I can pick it up and shoot quickly and easily, the battery life is great too so I can just turn it on and let it run (good for interviews), not to mention all the pro features like focus assist, custom profiles, colour bars etc

But given my frustrations I'd like to get a camera that has the following:
  • 20x optical zoom
  • 3 rings (focus, zoom, iris, zoom)
  • small body (XF100 size or only slightly bigger)
  • light weight
  • custom picture profiles
  • at least HD 50fps
  • other features found in the XF100 (focus assist etc)
  • good picture quality
I'm not so fussed about low light as I mostly do outdoor or well lit shooting and if not I have the GH4 and would light anything really dark or just put up with noise and try to reduce in post.
I also don't necessarily need 4k but if that's an option then it would be a bonus.

so...I would love to hear people's suggestions - I'm considering the Panasonic HC-X1000 as it seems to fit my requirements but happy to consider alternatives that are not too bulky (want to keep the weight and size down)

thanks
