Camcorder moisture malfunction

Yesterday, I was filming at an outdoor location on an extremely humid day. I'm guessing that condensation got inside the camera and it shut off automatically. I looked in the dvx100b user manual and it states that the power automatically turns off when condensation forms inside the camera.

So, I put the camera back into the case in my car to let it dry out. I waited for approximately 3 hours until I turned my camera on. Everything appeared to be functional again, however, when I turned the camera off both of the rec tally lamps came on and the camera and vcr indicator lights turned on as well. I let the camera sit over night, and the same thing is happening now.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Was the car air-conditioned at the time?

If it was a hot, humid day, chances are, it didn't dry out. You'll probably need to send it for service.

yeah, the car was air-conditioned at the time. Will this be covered by the maunfacturer's warranty?
