Calling anyone who has connected their DVX to Vista!

Hey peeps,
For the last...well ever since I got my DVX I haven't been able to connect it to my laptop with Windows Vista. Nothing happens when I plug in the DVX via expresscard.

Now my only question is: Has anyone here ever connected a DVX to a Vista computer through firewire successfully??

I just want to know; I have a couple solutions for working out this problem (either save up for a mac, downgrade to xp, or try a different expresscard), but I need people to answer this question before I do anything!

Thanks.

I've been using vista home premium for the past month with vegas 8 and haven't had any problems at all.

Hooked up through firewire and had absolutely no issues at any point.

Can't say I'm sold on the OS yet, definitely miss my XP, but it gets the job done.

I've connected the DVX to my media PC running Vista ultimate through Premiere pro 2.0 and with the trial of adobe OnLocation with no issues

Do you have the latest chipset or expresscard drivers for your PC installed?

That's a good question. Is there a way to find this out? I can't find any expresscard driver help on Microsoft's support site...

Do other computers recognize your DVX okay?

Well, I have a desktop computer with XP and it recognizes my DVX fine.

The expresscard driver should be able to be downloaded from the card manufacturer's website - post up the make and model number (or better yet google "brand model vista driver") :)
Also -go to your laptop manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your model as well - can't hurt

I think I just spotted the problem.... Vista Ultimate vs. Home Edition.
I have the same problem and I haven't been able to fix it... but I DO have Vista Home Edition and I'm running Vista in my laptop. Yes, I have been able to connect this same camera with my Desktop PC.

Have you solved this problem???
I will keep on looking and if I find any answer I will let you know.
