California Business Lien

Anyone done this? I found out some interesting info, and I am owed some significant rental money for some property (2-3 months worth).

I don't think this guy will ever follow through on the appropriate rental fees, but I am thinking about filing a lien against the company. Especially if I dont get the property back.

As a side note, this is the second time the owner of this particular company has screwed me. Once out of a job, now his "theft" or un-authorized use of my property for his business (video company).

You would probably just be best to contact someone you know who is familiar with the law, for both of your postings/issues as of tonight. I'm sorry you are in a difficult situation but I doubt you will find any definitive solutions here.

Ryan, I understand. I was hoping someone had been down the road of filing a lien. I consider it "last ditch", but still an option.

Just want to get their take on the process itself. I have the forms and the procedures.

If you still haven't gotten paid or received your equipment back -

- why are you just thinking about a lien?

of course a man of your resources shouldn't even have to resort to such things as liens...if'n you know what I mean...

Doc, you've had a strange year....man....we need to grab that beer!

No sh%^! I must have done something bad in a previous life.

Property is on it's way back.

Heh heh!

It takes a lot for me to really get riled. Usually, I just blow off some steam, take a deep breath, then think about the best option and direction to go. And believe it or not, I tend to avoid violence.........now. I have too many scars as it is now from my more "action packed" days.

But...but...

Thousands of rounds of blank ammo ripping off outside some hapless jerk's window at 0400, mortars and flash-bangs and smoke bombs rattling his windows...his dog barking frantically...

...you get the idea. It would be glorious. And basically non-violent, albeit noisy.

Glad you got your stuff back.

You could also blast Rick Ashley at his window at 2:00 am although you'll Rick Roll the whole hood. By the way Doc, you need some fake money to go with your guns. I knew a special effects guy that had this. Basically it was a briefcase full of fake money and two blank guns on top and all the money printed front and back and looked real until you really looked at it.

Everyone wanted to "borrow" that one prop and that was the thing he would always be on set with because people would steal the money. LOL. People are a trip. We fired a few blank guns off in his basement. It was cool. Just something think about. Add a few fake passports too and you're golden. I know I kind of got off topic there, but I thought I'd give you a good idea since I was here.
