Calibrating LCD

Pardon a possibly very dumb question:

How do I calibrate the DVX200 LCD using bars? I bring up the bars but I don't see how to make any adjustments.

And on the camera's waveform monitor, what does the horizontal line through the middle indicate? Is your picture okay if much of the activity is around that line?

I don't recall reading anything about the ability to calibrate the camera's LCD but Barry has some good info in his e-book regarding the waveform monitor starting on page 48. Here's a link to download the book if you haven't already.

Thanks. I thought I read something or saw something by Barry G. about calibrating your LCD with bars. And I just came across the waveform info in his book last night.

Check page 223 of Barry's guide. I think thats what you are looking for.

Thanks. I did see that. I don't get how to adjust the LCD and still keep the bars up -- unless I'm missing something basic.

It is not a dumb question. I might be wrong, but I do not think it is possible to calibrate the LCD on the DVX200 - you can only make minor adjustments to color, brightness, etc.
