GH2 Calibrating JuicedLink 454 to the GH2

Hi. Anybody out there using this pair?
I have tried to do the setup on my GH2 with the JL454 but the meter on the camera is still much hotter than the meter on the 454. I have turned up the screw clockwise to try to get the meter on the 454 to match the GH2 but they are still very far apart. Yes, I have turned down the input on the GH2 as low as possible.
Am I missing something? I have read the instructions and watched the video a few times trying to catch a mistake.
Which meter should I trust more, on the camera or on the 454?

One other question. When using the 14-140 lens, on a tripod, I should turn off the OIS, right?
In still photo lenses you do but wanted to make sure the same principle applies.
Thanks for any input, I really appreciate it.

This is an email I got from Juicedlink Yesterday.

Ram,

Thank you for your inquiry!

So many cameras ...

I haven't had a chance to play with the GH2 yet. However, I have lots of
customers are using the DT454 with it, and getting very good results. The
GH2 has four settings for its audio level. Their feedback is that they are
using the lowest setting in the GH2, not using any AGC disable in the DT454,
and simply using the GH2 meters (apparently, the GH2 meters are still
visible while recording, unlike the Canon's).

Please make sure you're subscribe to the blog. When I have more direct
things to add, I will make a post about it.

Best regards,

Robert Rozak

I would say trust the GH2 meters.

Robert, thanks to an immediate reply to my email and to this forum. I will ignore the 454 meter and go with the GH2 meter. Really appreciate it!

Lol Robert didn't post that here but it's cool. He did respond to me in less than 2 hours when I emailed him yesterday. Good luck with your setup and please post some results.

Yes, it is pretty amazing customer service. Was afraid of not getting a reply over a weekend, that is why I posted here. Obviously, many video shooters never sleep and are always tuned in to this dvx forum. ;)

Here is a reply that I received from Robert Rozak last December from a similar question I asked about the settings of the Gh1 vs the Gh2. I don't know if it adds anything to the above but for what's it's worth I will post it.
Fred,

The GH2 has Manual control of its audio. So, you will set the camera gain
to low, and you do not use the AGC disable of the DT454. Then, you will
follow similar steps for the instructions on the 5D (which also has Manual
control) to calibrate the meter of the DT454 to the camera's meter.

Best regards,

Robert Rozak

That is confusing. I appreciate your input and message but do not understand, given what I have been told.
On the AGC disable switch, right now it is on OFF. Are you suggesting to switch it to Noise? The manual said that Tone is no longer to be used as an option. How do I not use the AGC disable as Robert said? Or do I simply switch the camera gain from HI to LO? Fchris, thanks for bringing this to light.

One other question. When using the 14-140 lens, on a tripod, I should turn off the OIS, right?
In still photo lenses you do but wanted to make sure the same principle applies.

yes - on sticks turn off OIS.
