Cage for A7S with battery grip

Hi Guys and Gals,

I am looking for a cage in the sub $300 range that will work with the A7S with the battery grip on.
I've looked everywhere and can only find cheap cages meant for use without the grip.

Anybody have any ideas?

Such a cage is very improbable because the battery grip blocks the bottom mounting screw hole and leaves no other secure mounting point.

I think he refers to the bottom left part of the cage, which is te side where you're supposed to take batteries off from the grip

It certainly does not meet the sub $300 requirement, however. I have the grip. Since you can't swap a battery while it's running and the batteries are still tiny. I decided on the movcam cage and I'm getting the atomos continuous power thingy as soon as its out. That way cage stays small when it needs to, takes the new xlr pack directly on the hotshoe when it comes out, and I can rig up bigger and run normal sized battery's for the camera and other bits.

none of those bits are cheap, but it means the cage is small enough to leave on the camera for stills etc.

You might try Coolcd's medium/large sized cage - should fit your budget as well. I have the Wallimex, but even if you spent a little more to get that, you need the extension kit to fit the grip.

Thanks so much for the great replies eyes. I decided to go with a smaller cage that will fit just the A7s and then by the Atomos Power station. And attach that to the cage when I need it for longer shoots. Does that seem like a logical plan?
