Cage brackets?

I'm looking after cage brackets. The kind of brackets you attached to the rods and makes another rail support on top of the camera like Red Rock stuff but less expensive.

I just want the brackets since I already have rods and a baseplate.

Anyone know where to get only the brackets not to expensive?

There was a guy on here a while ago selling parts his brother machined. I think the site is easom.com or easomoptics.com. Try them

Thanks, I'll check it out. Anyone else has some suggestions on what to get?
I really need to expand due to more complex work where I need to attach more stuff to the camera rig.

Im unconvinced by cages

height is fixed so it goes into the trash with next weeks DSLR arrival

I reckon some 90 clamps and upright rails for infinite adjustment is the way forward

A DSLR wont get any bigger as long as you stay away from D3/1D designs which are higher. I already think the 7D is a big DSLR. Anyway I'm in touch with easom and we'll see if I can get hold of a sample.

They could get smaller too - then you will be carrying round a load of air - if that matters

Any Decent DSLR = with XLR in and a fat data rate etc is bound to be of the 'pro' size

Yes, future DSLRs can go in any direction they might even become extinct ;)

I see two ways of shooting. For "Run N Gun" I want just a stripped camera with z-finder or similar. For studioshoots I want something that allows me to add monitor, arms, mics and anything I can come up with. My feeling after a bunch of jobs in different environment tells me a DSLR camera is not a decent formfactor and the more options you have to kit out a DSLR the better it is.

I'm looking for another body other than the 7D and GH1 I have to today and when I get it I will use one camera permanently attached to a cinerig and the other for stills and Run N Gun/Steadi jobs.

morgan_moore: Do you have any pictures of a "90 clamps and upright rails" type of rig? Love to see it!

This is my height adjustable rig - the top all comes away leaving the camera on rails for Finder RnG mode

Here the 90 brackets are incorporated into the cross bars

By 90 brackets I meant something like this what holds the two rods together on this..

mine is wide so you can use an H configuration with a crossbar and two upright tubes, the bottom of the H are for the hands and the top is for mounting a mic and monitor

So the cage is wide but the total amount of joints etc is less

This actually has seperate handles so I can whip the cage off for RnG use

It is snug to the height of the camera in the extreme, the back support could be trimmed a little

Of course I use skinny tubes so it might look bigger than it is ..

Anyway good luck with your choice

there is a super skinny cage in this video -http://www.cinema5d.com/news/?p=2215

Yours seams flexible but I want to stay with the standard 60mm width brackets.
I've looked at buying 90 degree angle junctions but all of them are really expensive.

Im more talking about configuration than any specific rig maker (id get in trouble for that)

I can imagine such brackets are expensive, try Gini maybe

Other wise I think RR do something that can be built to a fixed cage as will Esom when he gets his ship together
