Hi all

looking at a cage/baseplate/rods.

Does anyone have any feedback on Smallrig or Kamerar gear.

Will be using with Nikon D7000/D7100

I'm open to other suggestions but cost must be at or very near Smallrig.

cheers

SmallRig's parts are fairly good value for the price. The parts lack the refinement of those from Zacuto or Wooden Camera (example: SmallRig's ratcheting knobs are fidgety) and they're not as bombproof either. But again, for the price, their parts are serviceable depending on how hard you use the gear.

Components with no moving parts (such as their NATO rails) are actually very nice. The anodizing may not be as strong as more premium brands, but it's well-made and fully functional.
