Cache Record on XDCAM Clip Browser

If you click the "Related Info" tab on the bottom right portion of XDCAM Clip Browser 2.0 it has a field for Cache Rec. Is there any new word on a possible firmware upgrade to support this in the EX1? I wonder if the hardware even has the capability...I know this feature was rumored awhile back.

You know what, I've got the feeling that even if the camera has the ability to cache record built in we will never see it. Sony have never really be seen to give many big features like this away as freebies, they tend to release new models instead. Heck they won't even let us flash the camera itself when next to every other piece of electronics I have has user firmware flash upgrades (Sony let us do it with the PS3, go figure...)

In the end it is probably just a marketing decision not to make these cameras so good on first release that no one will want to upgrade to a second model. They are a company that needs to make a continuing profit after all and a feature like a pre-record cache is something that wasn't going to kill sales of the first model, but will help drive sales of a second model.
