Cable bag solution!

So after a lot of searching I came across a bag that pretty much takes care of the cable situation. It's from a company called Cablephyle - they have several bags, and the one I bought is the CFB-03. For whatever reason, I think they are low on inventory of the CFB-03 at the moment - they sell through Amazon and eBay - but have the other bags in stock. I paid $84.50 plus $18.50 for shipping. Its basically a long bag with several dividers of different thicknesses, and you put your cables into the dividers - it also has large pockets. You unzip the top and there you can see all your cables neatly filed away. I've been very pleased with this. Here is a not very good youtube review of the smaller bag the CFB-02, it's not as large as the CFB-03 I bought, but it kinda gives you the idea (it starts at minute 4:00):

The bag is really well made and very ergonomic. Anyhow, I hope someone can find this helpful.

^^^ 9 minutes of Pelican porn.

No, like I said, the review of the Cablephyle CFB-02 starts at about minute 4:00. This is not my review, and I bought the bigger bag, the CFB-03, but the video can still give you an idea of what's involved.

Hope the bag works for you and others.

I use stackable plastic crates with linking split lids for all my cables as I have found bags are harder to rummage through.

Yesterday I did some effects recordings of industrial machine sounds, and I brought with me the CFB-03 bag with cables and all sorts of audio stuff. It was fantastic. Totally minimized trips to the car - I had everything with me, and I could get to it the moment I opened it as everything is visible at a glance - no more digging through a rat's nest of cables. The bag has a ton of very capacious pockets, so that was useful too. Bottom line, the bag passed its first real life exam with flying colors. It's also very portable and easier to move than f.ex. a cart, you can set it down just about anywhere.
