C300 MK IIs starting to arrive

Oooooooohhhh man! Congrats Jim. So stoked for you guys. Please post some footage as you can. Really excited about this one.

We have "Trickshot" but Canon will have new footage for us next week at our Seminar on the 26th...so maybe we can get more to post then...

Also, if you see the sticker on the box, Canon is giving away a free Jacket & Vest to those who register their C300 MK II camera purchase on Canon's site. There will be a limited number so as soon as you get your camera, make sure you do that asap.....more details later....

Now take it out in the backyard and shoot a few trees, rack focus on the fence and then some shots of grass and leaves.

;)

Great to hear that already C300 Mark IIs are trickling in. I can buy early next year when my current project is over. Look forward to new films shot with the Mark II. I am sure this camera would be awesome.

The key Canon people are very aware of the 4K 60p question.....Discovery Channel's Tier 1 is requiring "big boy" 4K at 60p and many a working pro here in town are scratching their heads a bit because of the fact that full 4K in itself are very large amounts of data and if you go to 60p, it basically doubles that amount of data....a TON of stuff that in most cases is not warranted.....
I know the head of the design team is aware of this and maybe there could be updates in the future, but for now, using the Odyssey 7Q+ will have to do.....and I wouldn't pick a camera based on 1 feature, I would base it on multiple features...and in reverse too, I wouldn't eliminate a camera based on 1 feature.

Canon didn't give 1080 60p in the original C300 and it was a massive omission. Perhaps that made the Canon guys think they can omit the 4K 60p from the C300 Mark II as well. With the 4K 60p, the C300 Mark II could have been the main camera in many many situations replacing many premium priced cameras. Perhaps Canon doesn't want it?

Nevertheless, the C300 Mark II is a pretty versatile camera. Enabling 4K 60p in the C300 Mark II will make it a classic. Hope Canon Gods are listening.

At first I thought it's not a big deal. But because it is significantly more expensive I've gone with fs7. Now I see that when going slow mo 4K60fps is the one that I use 80% of time. 120fps in fhd is enough, it's slow yet it doesn't require ton of light. But lack of 4K60fps is really a dealbreaker for me now. Shame, because that AF looks like a fantastic tool to have.

Not necessarily. But what they can do (and if they're listening and they're clever they will do it) is to use one of those gpu responsible for extended dynamic range and utilize it for calculating additional frames. So provide 4k60fps at limited DR.
