C100 59.97i footage to 24p slomo in Avid

I've got some footage I shot in 60i on a C100 with the intention of it being slowed 40% in a 24p timeline to make slomo out of it. I do this in Premiere almost automatically, but I'm wondering if Avid will do this too, or will Avid just insist that the footage is 60i on ingest and not do a nice slomo with it.
It's been fuhevah since I've sat in front of an Avid system so I can't recall if this is an easy thing to do or if it looks decent. I'm not the editor on this project so I just have to hand over the shots. I'd like to be able to give the editor a heads up as to how easy or hard it is going to be for him. ...or if I have to convert these shots myself and send him slowed down footage.

You'll have to add the slomo as a motion effect in Avid. Play with the interpolation/frame blending methods, I find that different clips call for different interpolation.
