C Stand Junior Adapter?

Hey all,

I've been searching around and can't seem to find exactly what i'm looking for. Is there any way to adapt the top of a standard C-Stand with 5/8" top stud to a 1-1/8th inch stud receiver? This seems like something that would be pretty simple and much preferable to buying a whole new $200 stand, but I can't seem to find a part that does it.

I believe you're looking for a 1 1/8 to 5/8 stand adapter. Cinema gadgets has them for 22$ . I'm sure many others have them.
 
Correction. Mole richardson makes a baby stud to junior stand top adapter. $72.50 at b and h. Not sure the first one I listed will work. Good luck.
 
Awesome! The Matthews adapter is exactly what I was looking for. Searched high and low and couldn't find it myself. Thanks for pointing it out :)
 
There's a reason bigger lights have a junior pin that won't fit onto a C stand or a 750 stand, and why you had a hard time finding that part. C stands have a pretty narrow footprint and aren't designed to hold a heavy load. If you insist, with a lot of lights you can make it compatible by buying a TVMP, a couple fender washers, and a long 1/2" bolt so you can attach it to the yoke in place of the junior pin that the light came with, but it's not something I'd recommend.
 
Ack. Be careful.

I could see doing this with a beefy baby or something with a wide footprint, but if a fixture has a junior pin, it's there for a reason.

You can get a Kupo HD steel combo stand for $150 and free US shipping. Heck of a stand for the money. Do it right...
