"C" Settings in v3.51

Sorry for the newbie question!

What is the equivalent of the "C" Settings in the newest version of PTools v3.51?

is there a specific reason you want the C settings?
i think the lpowell patches are a better way to go if your a newbie, simple to install via his INI zip file, high bitrate & pretty stable :smile:
 
I actually had the same question on my mind, because when you go through many of the hack threads as a newcomer you read so often about the C-settings. It is good to hear your recommendation of the lpowell patches - I installed the peak performance patch - but carry also an SD card with the reliability patch with me in my camera bag - so that I can switch in situations when the peak patch fails.
 
yeah Joho for a newcomer reading up on older threads it must get very confusing with a lot of hack info being specific to certain Ptool version releases.

lpowell knows what he is doing and has optimised high bitrates & stability to bring us all a great set of patches, id imagine he will have tried and tested pretty much every variable of older settings to get to where he is now.

i always seem to be bigging up that lpowell guy! lol (i've never been happier with the performance of my GH13 since going with lpowell's stuff! i guess that is why)

Yes, everything is very confusing to a GH13 newcomer! I went with the peak performance patch (thanks lpowell) .... There needs to be one locked thread explaining EVERYTHING from beginning to end. Thanks for the help!

haha i guess its called the forum! vast and hard to find things in! a bit like the universe :smile: but the answers are there somewhere! haha

but yeah i do agree it would be nice.
 
Beginners OVERVIEW:

What is the GH1 firmware hack?

The hack allows you to record at a very high bitrate which means better image quality out of the GH1. A hacked GH1 is the same as a "GH13". "A GF13" is a hacked GF1...

You need a high class/recording speed memory card (10 is the best) for the hack to be most reliable.

This hack is not full proof. There is a lot of trial and error going on in this forum.

What is Ptools?

Ptools is the software that allows you to modify the original GH1 firmware (that you download off of Panasonic's website).

Once you modify it to record at a higher bit rate (and other cool features), you then copy the "new" firmware onto your cameras SD card and install it onto your camera as a firmware update.

What is a patch?

A patch is a file you can download from this forum that was created so you can easily upload it into P-tools and you are ready to go. The settings have been tried and tested by other members so you don't have to worry about changing the P-Tools yourself (which can be very tricky). You can usually find a patch that will suit your needs such as...

*Peak Performance Patch (Best quality but not the most reliable)
*High Reliability Patch (Most reliable)

What else should I know?

There are many threads with older patches, older version of P-tools updates, etc. that can be very confusing to a newcomer.

You may see phrases like "C-settings" or numbers that don't apply to the newer versions of P-tools.
