GH2 C mount lens mount not working! Please help!!!!!

I had purchased a CCTV 35mm lens and Micro 4/3 to C-mount lens adapter last week, and they arrived today. The problem I am having is whenever the C-mount adapter is mounted on the GH2, there is no image on the LCD or EVF.

In fact, the GH2, no matter what mode it is set to,with the adapter attached will say"THE LENS IS NOT ATTACHED PROPERLY .DO NOT PUSH LENS RELEASE BUTTON WHILE LENS IS ATTACHED". WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?! The Gh2 seems fine before I screw the adapter all the way in, there is a hazy image on the LCD/EVF, (obviously from the raw sensor) but after the adapter is screwed in the mount, the screen turns black. It seems the adapter is getting in the way of the electronic lens contacts near the bottom of the raw Micro 4/3 mount, but I'm not sure.

Can anyone familiar with using C-mount lenses on GH2 PLEASE tell what the hell is going?

P.S : Here are the links to what I purchased from eBay.

Can someone point to a better C-mount adapter?

I have the same CCTV lens.

Did you choose Shoot Without Lens option in Menu?

Check F-stop on lens and make sure it's not on F22.

Make sure you are on a exposure setting that allows for manual setting of shutter speed, either M or S.

Do you still have a hazy image if you only screw on the adapter by itself and no lens? That's a Rainbow Imaging adapter which are consider fine by a lot of people

You could try insulating the contacts with some kind of tape to see if the adapter is shorting out the contacts

i have the same adapter and haven't had any issues with several c-mount lenses that i've used (apart from some of them not being able to focus to infinity, thats an issue with the lens more so..)
make sure u've set the aperture on the lens wide open, manual (M) mode on the camera, try shutter speed of 1/60 or faster (lower number), shoot w/o lens is on.

to test if you have a bad adapter - try shooting with the adapter alone (i.e no lens). point the camera at your monitor and you should be able to see bright light atleast. If you still get the error, you have a bad adapter. contact rainbowimaging on ebay and they'll send you a replacement.

other case might be a bad lens - try to visually see the aperture blades opening and closing as u adjust the ring on the lens.

I had the same problem with such an adapter on my GH1.

The reason was trhat the hole which is used for locking was not seep enough, so the little piece on the GH1 was not able to completely go out in order to detect correct mounting.

I had to rework a litle this hole, increasing its depth. I used a small drill (Dremmer is the brand name).

I had that happen too. The adapter is cheaply made. The locking well isn't quite deep enough. I just used a key or small screwdriver and pressed hard on it to make it just the tiniest amount deeper. Worked fine after that! And don't worry if you happen to punch a hole. I did. Affects nothing.

I have a second adapter, a thin one. The locker hole is complete, from side to side. So, I had no problem with this adapter.

i sometimes get this with one of my adaptors... its normally fixed by rotating abit and making sure it seated correctly.. prohaps the mount you have is not connecting with the part of the camera that lets it know theres a lens there...

ps

what are the cctv lenses like?
