Max the cameraman was strapped onto the quad with a solid pro harness.

More later...

Yeah max was literally stuck on the quad for about 2 hours. We would get up walk around talk about the shot, but max was stuck on the quad until we finished the shot. The things dedicated camera operators go through for films amazes me! :)

huh....those cowboys look bigger in real life! (snicker-snicker)

A funny story on Dusty, drove with him to LA recently. He had an audition for a Dickies commercial, then a few days later we went back for an audition for a Viagra commercial. Then he got a callback for the Dickies shoot so I guess the Viagra helped with the Dickies????? True Story Too!!!

Keep an eye on my pard Dusty! He's on a roll!

lol thats funny! He's got to get work some how. ;)

I got my locked down cut last night and got my titles in. :) yeeee haaaaa I also got it sent off to Justin Durban that is doing my Score. yeah! He is amazing, I cant wait to hear what he comes up with.

Congratulations Troy! I will be posting some of the BTS stills here in no particular order. Troy chats with the Cowboys.

Grip Chris Coleman. He helped us on STRICKEN too. He is such a nice guy. You may remember him as the lead in Troy's short, 'Impossible Race'. He is hilarious!

One of our Mustangs used for the shoot. We also had a spare third horse just in case.

There was a cool pond there too.

We moved all the trucks, trailers and cars over the hill behind where Troy is walking and then erased the tracks on the dirt roads with large brooms.

Before our equine actor started work. Later he would be all lathered up. The horses were wonderful and worked hard.

Make up girl of wonderfulness, Rachel Jenkins. She does absolutely GREAT work. If you EVER need a talented make up artist for your films, GET HER by all means. She is fun on set too.

Joey on his first pass on camera. Two GH1's were on nearly every shot, one close and another distant.

We finished with the ATV shots and strapped Max into the pickup truck bed. We harnessed him in so he could steady both front shooting and rear shooting. I was the dollygrip who drove the truck. It is interesting how much aiming the vehicle for the shot is like aiming and framing a shot on camera. You have to be aware of the angles of the vehicle in relation to the target of the shot and set up the correct angle to make it possible for the cameraman to get the good shot.

And off we go!
4650722593_017060fb02_b.jpg

I would back up the hill and wait for the horses to get into position. This is an absolutely beautiful shot in my opinion. What a location.

More BTS:

Here we are shooting forward. We shot forward and backwards shots of both our cowboys. We did quartering shots, close ups and low shots. All the while Matt Sconce was lurking off to the side somewhere getting really cool angles from tripod and hand held GH1.

DP Shane Foster runs broom duty to eliminate footprints that the GH1 would see. Make up artist Rachel Jenkins stands ready to touch up any make up Joey may need. We used this wide angle lens for filming too. Nice huh?

Our cowboys. They worked tirelessly all day with never a complaint. They rode, ran, fell, shot and fought. Call Dusty Probert if you ever want a whole gang of these guys, completely decked out and with their own horses. They are real professionals!
4650708317_7ec341e22f_b.jpg

Matt Sconce had to go early to help a family raise money for an injured young man's medical bills so the rest of us mugged for a group picture. What a fun group and what a great shoot. That's all folks!

wow, theres some cool shots here. This is the 2nd film the 3 of us have worked on, 1st one with Teeter (the youngest kid in the black hat). We have had nothing but fun doing these, I mean what could be better than riding and shooting all day!

Not a whole heck of a lot could be better than that... Maybe making films?

well if that's an invation....We can provide cowboys, outlaws, lawmen, saloon girls, prarie women, firearms, horses, props, and just about anything else you could think of.

making films about riding, shooting and saloon girls! Best of both worlds!!

oh man I really starting to think I should write a feature script for all you guys. It would be so much fun to make an old west feature. Ill be thinking about it. :)

Shane, you are crazy about 3D. I think... 'Eh'.. :undecided

I have to admit, a six shooter pushing out into your face during a gun fight would be cool. :cheesy:
