Buzzing L RCA out

I have a recurring problem - shooting in 24P advanced, no matter what I record, either thru the panasonic shotgun mic mounted on the cam, or even when running seven mics thru a 24 channel board with he main outs going to the cam, and the correct channel assignments, only the left RCA out buzzes when either plugged into a monitor, or any TV that will accept audio inputs.
If I listen thru the heaphone jack the audio is great, both channels are getting TO THE TAPE perfectly, I could not be more impressed.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a short in your RCA out. Unfortunately until you can get it fix, you will have to use the working RCA out. If it is crucial that you get two channels, send it to a board or FCP or any audio editing system and run mono out, which will give you two channels out but it will not be stereo.

The buzzing is not really loud, but enough to be an anoyance. I have done just that, run it thru the board, and have dual channel, but not stereo. What about running the stereo mini jack out from the headphones jack, should that work? I know the audio that is getting to the tape is ok and no left channel problems, so during capture, the audio is getting into Avid ok, it's just a PITA.

Radio Shack does sell a mini jack to stereo RCA receptor. I've never used it and I don't know if the impedence will match. Theoretically, it should work. Just keep in mind that it should be a temporary fix because mini plug receptors are notoriously famous for losing their grips (basically getting too loose to hold the jack). The last thing you would want is the inability to monitor whats being recorded in the camera. I may be a bit paranoid about this so don't take my word as final.

Yes, I thought of that, but does me no goo, bcause the only time I use the RCA outs is for monitoring or viewing shots on a monitor or big screen TV in my case. The actual recording being done while shooting is input thru the two XLR inputs in the audio section. So, all I would be gaining is the ability to run the mini to rca to my board, then out to a TV with another XLR to RCA. I can monitor thru headphones now and that works ok. It DOES RECORD ok. I have a feeling that I will need to get the cam fixed beause it is still under warranty.
I appreciate you taking a tab at it, that means a lot.

Yes, tried that. Used several cables, switched them, even went out and bought NEW cables, gold connectors, still the same result.

Buzzin Gone now - found problem

Buzzin Gone now - found problem

When I switched the front switches to MIC, the buzzing in the Left RCA went away as well. So, my problem with no phantom power and the buzzing RCA out were both fixed when I switched to MIC instead of line. Two with one stone - and it's something I am not likeley to forget anytime soon due to the amount of aggravation it caused. Thanks to all for help.
