Buying used DVX100b, some questions

Is 150 hours considered low use or medium?

I'm used to sony FX1 where I can run some things auto and some manual, ie: auto iris with AE shift and manual everything else or manual everything but auto white balance with WB Shift if needed. Can I do all these things with the DVX100b also? And can I adjust them while recording without info showing up on recorded image? I read the manual but it's not too specific.
Also, can I capture clean S-video out to a DVR deck with no icons recorded on screen?

Any info would be helpful, thx.
 
150 hrs is low use, and I believe you should be able to do everything the FX1 can and more with the DVX (other than HD of course). Make sure to get Barry Green's book as I'm sure that will help you get the most out of all the settings/controls available to you on the camera.
 
DVX can use manual or auto iris, white ball, auto focus etc. (switchable while shooting) You can also set to auto mode for any or all of these options. 150 is pretty low, but it should have had a professional head cleaning by now. If not you MAY need to get the heads cleaned soon.
