humm not bad.. but i was hoping for a really cool price.. i can get it for 3400 quid from singapore or japan when a friend goes there might bring me one.. was hoping to get it in europe for that much.. would be nice to have a warranty for a change :D any sugestions?

You are NEVER going to get one for that price in the UK. VAT is 17.5% for starters.

Guess you could get one from Singapore of Hong Kong but make sure you don't get caught bringing it through customs. PLus in the UK you get two 8 Gb cards in the box.

I weighed up buying fro the USA at $6699 but by the time you add in all the extra costs of travelling etc, you are better off buying in the UK.

I think it's pretty hard to find a cheap EX1 over here in Europe. The higher cost is probably due to tax, social security, salaries, etc. That's why it's cheaper in Asia. I talked to some guys who were using a Sony cam, they said they knew it was cheaper in Asia but warranty was big thing for them.

I guess warranty wouldnt be that important. After all, waranty covers only the most unlikely problems: (camera magically stops working without being dropped).. Usually one just gets an insurance on a shoot anyway to cover it realistically, like accidents on a shoot. I got my hvx200 in the uk at a china price a year ago.. they mailed it over.
