Buying It

We have four sponsors here who all enjoy excellent reputations. EVS, Birns & Sawyer, Abel Cine Tech, and Specialized Communications. Contact each and ask them what they're offering and if you can get in on their initial orders...

Hi thoughtfactory,

1) We match with the lowest Authorized Shipping dealer, when we have the cameras and are ready to ship.

2) We do not require a downpayment or deposit, and you are not required to pay anything until the day we are ready to ship the cameras to you.

3) We also enroll you in the HVX Club, where you get 50% off P2 card or Firestore Drive rentals for the first 6 months after your purchase, and a 1 week rental gets you free shipping anywhere in the country.

4) We also provide you 50% off certain 82mm filters at the time of your order, and 10% over cost on specific Portabrace and Kata bags intended for use with the HVX. We will also have special combo offers with the popular ME66/K6 and AT897 mics.

You can email me at rush@evsonline.com if you have further questions.

So Rush, what is the price right now for a HVX and two 8gb P2 cards going for? Sounds like the price has dropped a little. Also do you know how many you'll get in the first shippment?

Hi Drew, I can only remember off the top of my head, the price with no P2 cards (I am at home now) $5599. However, when we get our cameras and ready to ship, we will match with the lowest HVX Authorized dealer that actually has cameras to ship. This is in addition to all the other offers above

I have no idea how many we are getting in the first shipment (hopefully a lot since we ordered 100+ from Panny), but I expect that of the 80 or so cutomers' orders we have, 30 people will actually have funds ready to pay for the cameras on the first cycle, and the rest around the next cycle.

Oh and I forgot, as a local, you will be happy to know that paying cash/check fully offsets the tax on the camera. That will save you shipping on the order. Anyone else in the country paying cash gets apprx. $130 off.

I can highly recommend Abel Cinetech and Birns & Sawyer. EVS is supposed to be a great company as well, but I've not yet had any experience with them.

Rush, my friend, juice me to the top of that list, willya? Cash is in hand, ready to go... I want to be serial #00000001...

Hey, your not even in this area code Barry! First come first serve. Then again......
you've earned it.

Rush, #00000002 please.

I don't quite understand.

If I pay cash, I don't have to pay sales tax?

Thanks Rush for the info. I have my cash ready to go right when the camera gets in. I think I was number 17 on the list of pre-orders. But from the way you make it sound, it seems like whom ever gets there first gets the fist batch of cameras. Good thing I only live 8 minutes away. Also do you know if the price of the P2 cards are suppose to drop once the camera comes out. It sounds like that's kind of rumor right now.

Also did you say no sales tax on cash and check. I would much rather write a big check then come in there with with a fat stack of bills.

I know I have to be in the teens for that preorder list - made the mistake of asking EVS about it right when Panasonic announced the camera - but even so, please reserve a position for me after Mr. Green and Evinsky. Serial #00000003! Woohoo

Rush, for thanks for the advice. Just got my self on the list. Talked to Randy. I think I'm in the 70's or something. Any idea on what kind of back order delay that could mean. You guys are great...long live USER.....

Hello all. We have $8899 for the P2 card bundle and $5499 for just the camera. You also get 1 free cleaning within the first year of purchase and free shipping. If you pay by cashiers check, then you get an additional 2% off. So $8721 for the P2 bundle and $5389 for just that camera. Just goto our website and print out the form, fill it out, fax it or mail it and you are on your way. Oh by the way, thanks for all the orders everyone. I think we are all going to run into the same problem. All shipments may not come right at December/January like everyone is saying. We will have to be patient with Panasonic.

hey all, i have purchased over 150k of product from cody at evs over the last 4 years. these guys are the real thing. relationships mean more than a percent here or there. if they don't make something they can't help us when need them. i have worked a little with rush too and he only makes me feel better about EVS. real service, not bullsh--, honest answers and above all service with people who might actually remember your name. sorry guys, i think i happened to be talking to cody the day they decided to make a list for teh hvx and i might be one of the first 3 on the list. but who cares right, we all just want to make great looking product with real content. i will be amazed if it really ships before christmas though.

Thanks Harlan. I do business with Abel and Birns, and they are a great bunch of people. Jarred/Ian at Abel and I have helped each other out many times. :)

Barry, I know for a fact that any person in queue will gladly sacrifice their camera for you. You can have one of the 4 destined for my rental dept. In the past 2 years, you have done more and given more of your time and knowledge to the filmmakers of this Forum than most people could have done in a lifetime. Guys like you, Jarred, John H., Eagle eye Wells, and Barry_S keep us in the know, all the time, so we can all make better and better films. You can have my camera sir. :)

That is true, first come first serve, and the list is dated. But like I said, I have a feeling most people will not come up with the cash, which is okay, I will run the loop once then come back down again until everyone has a camera. :)

What I meant is that paying cash/check/wire saves you 3%, and tax in CA for teleproduction is 3%, so it offsets tax perfectly. God bless CA, they got the tax thing right to make it easier for filmmakers.
