Buying from BWayPhoto.com

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER ! Buy a new DVX from anyone who is not an AUTHORIZED dealer. Put all the extras aside and realize that if you don't buy authorized you don't have a warranty. Your warranty is worth as much as your camera. Panasonic will not fix even a defective camera that was bought grey market. If something goes wrong you are out whatever you spent and have no camera. These puppies are not cheap to work on. And don't believe them if they say they are authorized. The place I bought mine from (digital corp) LIED to me. Get a list from Panasonic (or go with evs or b+h). It's sooo tempting, I know. But resist, or pay the price.

I've got the scars man. Trust me.

And man, I am irritated by people who come here for advice, but don't want to take it. They want someone to agree with their already made-up mind.

But I'm having a bad day, so take that with a grain of NaCl

Unless you've got money to gamble with, why take the risk? I just bought a DVX a few weeks ago, and was also tempted to go with one of these "great deals", but after doing my homework, I decided to make the only LOGICAL decision, and went with EVS. You pay more, but you also get a $500 rebate, not to mention 10 tapes, battery, book, DVD, etc. I also didn't have some freakin' high pressure sales person harassing me on the phone. Call Rush @ EVS if you want a great legitimate deal. If you are not concerned about your peace of mind, roll the dice.

Tell me why? dont just say no. I have a friend that bought a camera from there. And the Guy Matt (that 17 year old that filmed the DVX100 music videos) they both got a DVX100 from that site. Why isn't it good?

I am in the middle of a very bad experience with bwayphoto.

I personally know of no one that has had a good experience with them. Its deffinetly worth it to deal with a reputable dealer like EVS. Personally, I only buy from B&H if EVS doesn't carry the item I am looking for. For all other purchases- I go EVS. Best customer service ever (EVS mug anyone?)
