Buying a refurbished lens???? Thoughts?

I am looking to purchase a 50mm 1.4. My friend works at a camera shop and can get me a deal roughly $100 off of the new price for the lens that they just sent to canon to have dust removed. I wanted to see if anyone has had any horror stories or reasons why I should avoid the purchase. He claims the lens came back looking good as new, but I have no experience with refurbished lenses. 30 day store warranty is included of course.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Other than the fact that a lens that had a dust issue before might have it again in the future, it sounds like a win win deal. I've bought plenty of used lenses and found that the ones that come with warranty's are usually the best.
