not to give this sergey cat a pass by any means. but anyone who drops that kind of scratch with another random individual online, ESPECIALLY IN ANOTHER COUNTRY, without factoring in an extra grand or two to go pick them up in person - is kind of stupid in my book.

The $65K was including work lost. The lenses were around the $32K range I believe, still a large chunk o' change. I would hate to see anyone loose that kind of money again, tread lightly with sketchy sellers.

I can confirm that this guy is a scammer. My bank wouldn't even let me send funds to him as he was flagged for fraud. Thank god, it was a large chunk of my lens budget!

There is certainly something to only dealing with trusted long term DVXuser members, or those recommended. For example, I always look at a history of the members postings to get an idea about them. It seems incredible that someone would do a deal that big without touching the equipment.
