Buy in the US, use in France

Hello,

If I buy a DVX100A in the US, what do I need to change to use it in France, besides the mains cable?

Can the AC adaptor switch to 220V?

Thanks,

Jean-Alain

If it is a PAL camcoder than the only thing you need to change is the power cable. If you want to buy a NTSC than you have to change the mainboard which costs around as much as the camera :D

Actually, the power supply says right on the bottom:
USA & CANADA 120V AC
FOREIGN 110/220/240V AC AUTO

So other than the main AC, you're good to go.

There is no reason that an NTSC camera cannot be used in any foreign country. You just can't playback NTSC recorded tapes in a PAL or SECAM deck. You'd have to rely on the camcorder or bring an NTSC deck/ monitor with you.

FYI Luka Brazzi: France is SECAM, not PAL
