Business video fee

$1500.00 would be a good price for something like this.

Here are some things I have seen in the past that might help you out.

1) Travel Time (gas, food, etc.) I have seen jobs undercut by several $$$ on this one.

2) Script - get the "final" script from them. From here you can get your shot list and make them stick to it. If not they will change things on you right in the middle. This way you can at least get more $$$ if it requires more work on your end.

3) Voice - watch out on this one, people do not understand what communication is, we had a very clear professional do one job for us, the CEO hated it and has demanded another actor. We sent samples, they hated them all, they finally agreed to one that is going to add to the over all cost of the production. The bottom line, you can't get Morgan Freeman to do your spot for $1500.00 and this is something they need to understand and agree on before you start.

You might not have any trouble with your clients, but try to cover yourself and be ready if someone tries to take advantage of your services. You are there to get paid for you time.

You bring up some good points that I had not thought of before. I guess I will really need to sit down and make a form for possible prospects to fill in. Like I said, so far I've been doing this and that. Not sure if this line of work will be the final stop, though.

Anyway, the client agreed on a price around 1200 euros. Said he had a script, and that music and voiceover is all covered. That sounds good to me. What would be a good workflow? Remember, trying to look like I know what I'm doing, and I don't want to mess up :)

Tx!

Unless they're insistant, as far as voiceover, talent, etc goes, I try to pull from my own resources. If I'm using that work for promotional purposes for my service as well, I don't want it to look mediocre on account of some crappy voice talent the proprietor of the company knew...And I don't want to tell other clients "That would have been better, but the company picked the <insert talent type>, not me.

Sounds like I'm making excuses.
