Busines card

I don't think his point was one of ability - but that legally you cannot enter into a contract with a 16 year old. I can see where people may be aprehensive about entering into a business arrangement with someone who legally can't be held accountable to any contract he may sign.

Yes, that´s the main point, but I guess there are other reservations to assigning a minor with a big project...

Sorry Spartacus, I misunderstood a little.

I apologize.

That card looks pretty good, Luis. Good points.

Chris

Thanks.
Obviously I'm no graphic artist (and I only worked on this for a couple of minutes).
It may not be very 'exciting' - but I think it accomplishes what it should.

EDITED TO ADD:

Oh yeah - one more piece of advice for you Como -
If you're going to use your cell number for business, then make sure you sound professional on your voice mail greeting.
It should say something like "You've reached Comeau Productions, etc etc" as opposed to "Hey, leave me a message and I'll hit ya up later"

or

yooooooooooooooooo

I like this thread so I threw together a b-card concept for you. I think it has a real "filmmaker" feel to it...

I took the C to the edge like in your original post. Just an idea.

This whole thread is filled with irony and sarcasm. I don't even know what to think anymore. I think what Luis whipped up looked pretty good in terms of colors. He didn't change the layout and thats something that I guess is personal preference. You can't have the letters or words right to the edge, because when printing a little bit is cut off, regardless of having it business card size.

I don't like the spacing on stinkpot's version for the text - it seems a little too much, but I guess thats the font he used.

The color scheme works well, but the image being the primary background is just odd or maybe a little amateur. I honestly can't take the card seriously because of the huge Comeau Productions in the childish font.

Other than that, placing seems better, colors work better but background image and fonts need to be changed and maybe you've got something here.

So why don´t you share your knowledge on minor contract workers?
"Not true" is a harsh statement on someone sharing his PERSONAL experience.
I don´t know how the law is were you live, but I would have to make a contract with the 16 years old PARENTS when it comes to serious work and serious money...
Very few people will trust a 16year old to handle a several thousand dollar project.
If your talking about doing a film about the company of your junior league buddys`father and he is paying you a whooping 500$ for the 20min film, that is an other story.
If you have other proof of minors taking over the video industry in a significant amount of numbers, please share, otherwise why don´t you quit the esoteric vagueness of your assertion and give some considerable examples...?

I guess I misinterpreted your first post. I took it to mean that you think nobody would ever trust a 16-year-old with anything serious.

It's hard to find serious jobs as a teenager, but there are people that judge responsibility, talent, and knowledge on things other than age.

I don't know your first name, hence "Doogie".

Change your email for business to something like the one I made up.

I was going for weddingy and edgy at the same time.

Wow Como you just got 3 kick ass looking business cards to think on.

JDS - you're on to something with the grungy look. Seems every time I have a keep business cards with me they get beat up and dirty after a week and I have to throw them out... Now if it started out dirty looking...

heheh thanks, "grunge" with mine about a year ago ...
since then it's been a whirl wind of limousines and rich starlets ... or not. :crybaby:

looks much better on the glossy card stock it's printed on ...
