Burning to Blu Ray

I am editing a movie on FCP that I want to be burned back to blu ray. I have been researching blu ray burners and have found that they appear mac/pc specific.

My first question is, what format would be best for getting perfect quality on the disc.
I am editing 7D footage that is in pro res 422 format.

Second question, if i buy a pc blu ray burner can I put the file from the mac on an external and bring it over to the pc, then burn it. If so, will I have any complications and/or quality degradation.

Third question, the one player i found that is apparently a hybrid is the buffalo media station 8X. Has anyone had an experiences with this burner, or know of any others that can be work on both mac/pc.

Now I know everyone is going to be like, well get a mac burner if your editing on a mac. This is going to be for multiple people that have macs and pcs. So it has to work on both. Also it has to be an external burner....

Thank you, hopefully you guys can help me out and hopefully this post is in the right section.

Blu ray burners either are sold externally with either FW, SATA, or USB2 connectors. These are compatible with Mac or PC. Go to macsales.com for a bunch of choices.

Whether you are on a Mac or a PC, you need a blu ray authoring application. On the Mac, there are Toast 9/10, Encore CS3/4/5 or Compressor 3.5.

If you will author on a Mac, stay with an exported pro res 422 self contained file.

But you need to tell us more.
