Hi,
I have some HD footage which I have edited in ProRes and have tried to export it out as H264 but the footage becomes jumpy....does anyone know how to either fix this or how you burn ProRes or HDV to DVD and retain HD quality?

ANY help would be much appreciated,
Thanks,Rogan

Unless you are working with a blu ray burner with Toast or Encore CS3/4, you can't burn to DVD without losing quality.

SD doesn't have the resolution of blu ray.

thank you!

That actualy makes sense, I dont know why I hadnt thought of that!

So if I was to deliver a Hd project what would be the best format to do this?

Perhaps H264 conversion onto DVD? or is there just no comparison to BluRay?

h.264 on a DVD will only be a data DVD for playing on a computer and will not work in a DVD player or Blu-ray player.

for the cleanest DVDs, bring the ProRes final output into Compressor and use the DVD preset for audio+video. Then bring the resulting files into DVDSP for authoring/burning. That's all you'll really get for SD DVD.

For HD, you need to look at a file-based media player or Blu-ray.
