Burning Blu-Ray with Toast/FCP

Hi everyone,

I just finished editing my first HD wedding and the couple would like the edit delivered on Blu-Ray. Generally I use iDVD or DVDSP to create nice menus with chapter selection etc. Now for Blu-Ray I have decided to use Toast and so far I am unhappy with the results.

I exported a Final Cut Pro movie file from fcp7 with chapter markers and dropped that into Toast and hit record. Here are my issues with the Blu-Ray that was produced. I don't want the file name, date or time included on the menu. Is there a way to get rid of these and just give the disc a title that shows up like the couple's name and the date of their wedding? Also, the chapter selection is divided up by numbers. Is there a way to get the chapter titles that I used in fcp to come through Toast? How about using the Share feature in fcp7, will that allow me to export with the chapter titles?

I think that's it, if anyone can give me tips, or post your workflow for getting HD video out of fcp7 and into Toast to produce a professional looking Blu-Ray disc I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!

I have used the share function on FCP you can make a basic menu and the results are acceptable.

Good luck Rob.

This really a Toast question.

But you can import your own PS files for menus into Toast and use them.

Professional and Toast blu-ray™ authoring are an oxymoron.

However, simple blu-ray™ authoring in Compressor using presets is possible

Is there a better way to create and burn blu-ray disks on a mac? My understanding was that Toast was kind of the industry standard. Is there a professional way to handle this using the Final Cut Studio 3 software?
