Hey guys, been reading here for quite a while and decided to finally buy a DVX. However I'm really unimpressed with my results so far...maybe someone can set me straight.
I'm having an awful time with noise. It seems the only way to get rid of it is by using a slow shutter like 1/24, but then the sky and all highlights are blown out. If i want to expose properly theres always noise in the dark areas..help! Im using a gain of 0, detail level of -3, detail coring +6, master pedestal of -1...and changing the gamma/matrix settings doesnt seem to help.
My other problem is sharpness. At most times the image is very harsh and changing the detail level just makes it blurry, not softer. Here is a grab to explain (detail level of -3)
Last thing, it seems the camera is having a really tough time with straight edges. Street signs, telephone wires, mountains, anything with an edge is totally jagged...what is going on?!
I never thought I would say this, but I was a lot happier with my pd150
....Maybe I just expected too much? Help!
