Bugs in FCP 5.1

Yes now Im starting to get a little miffed.

I shot 24pa footage.
I captured with 24pa advanced pulldown.
My clips cant be dropped in any kind of sequence without rendering.
I've trashed prefs, I've cleaned up my mainframe of FCP projects but no luck.
Whats really odd is when I go to my external drive and drop my new clips in timelines of old projects they are fine.
whats going on?

Perhaps I've never shot 24pa !! I understand now. If one shoots with the 24pa progressive frame rate then captures with the advanced pulldown Its Still Necessary to do a render even in a 23.98 timeline.!
Why does this sound wrong to me? Have I pushed the limits of my lousy macbook pro?

did another test and got the SOB to work..

wow. just wasted a whole day on a bug issue.

I hate my mac and hate FCP.
My DVX100a is a soldier and deserves better.
