Kholi,

I read the link that talks about how to make standard DVDs that will play on the Toshiba in HD, but it's quite confusing (to me at least). If you guys figure out how to make standard DVDs that will play HD footage on the Toshiba using Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro, please let me know.

Anyway, great detective work!

I'm working on it now. I'll update the thread with specific information... and I'll try to water it down to be read better as well.

Okay. I understand the process for getting the Toshiba to recognize a standard DVD R as an HD-DVD.

I just have to port the same line of thinking over to DVD studio Pro. I might go and buy the TOshiba tomorrow to try this out, but that's not a definite thing.

I will read a bit m ore and figure it out.

HD-DVD on SD-DVD? Can you guys re-post the link to where this process is explained? The link further up in this thread doesn't work.

Thanks

Looks like the link is down. I'll try to recover the process for you guys and stick it at the top of this thread.

UPDATE!!!!!!

You CAN put HD DVD content on a STANDARD DVD!

It's on the first page of this thread! I am looking into purchasing an HD-DVD player by Toshiba today to see if this process works. (This is not definite, though)

Kholi,
Please let me know if you find out how to make a DVD for the Toshiba using a Mac or Apple Programs. I don't own a PC. Thanks again for all of your research!
