Very nice spot. You have your camera dialed in very well.
Is that an electronic pan and tilt head from a jib mounted on the base of the slider? Why did you chose to fly the camera overhead like that.

The camera mount is a Weaver Steadman 3 axis fluid head (not electronically controlled). I operated the pan and tilts

The Zhuter slider is motorised for all of these shots and we underslung so that I could "fly" directly forward over the table for some shots. eg salad .

The slider is under slung to a scaffold tube supported each end by light stands. Not on a jib. It is designed to work inverted or upright or on inclines.

Nice job Shooter. Thanks for the details.

I will post up a couple of frame grabs pre CC / Grade from the TVC.

There was a bit of a Da Vinci Resolve session but it was not too elaborate or involved. (Colorists always have to stamp their mark on us D.Ps though)

I am now kind of interested myself ...to see what we did in a comparison . Dont usually return to the source footage once we completed .

Get back to ya soon with the frame grabs off the time line.

Internal or external recording?
Look forward to the grabs.

Thats the internal codec.

On this job I had the opportunity to work with an old colorist friend who I have worked with for years but maybe not in the last 5 or 6. She did my film work in telecines.

She now does most of her work in the Weta Films - Park Road Post Facilities.

I took the opportunity to see what she thought of the AVCHD codec from her POV.

In a nut shell. She had no problems with it. at all.

( but then...I always have told her, thats because I alway shoot my stuff properly and she has little to do with it)

Most of her work is 2k and 4k! That says something.

Next job ( Wednesday coming) I am dual recording ( Samurai and Internal)...and I will be sending both source footages to Australia where all the editing and post will be done.

I will try and to get feedback for my own benefit.

Thanks, Shooter. Your contributions to this forum are very valuable and I appreciate your sharing.

Shooter, I got a question. Ive seen a lot of posts that say they combined the AF100 with the G2. Why would you do that? Is the G2 more cinematic or why make that call?

Thanks and again, GREAT WORK MAN!!!

I have not ever tried to shoot with the 2 cameras for the same sequence because I have not spent enough time with the GH2 in my hands to become familiar enough with it.

I dont usually have a need for a B-cam. ( except bts)

GH2 are not really movie cameras IMHO ...and my head has to work differently for whichever one I have in my hands at the time.

There would have to be a particular reason or convenience for me (or us) to use both and so far that has not occurred.
(Although I can think of many situations where it could be convenient to use the GH2 as well though . eg vehicle interior, stunt camera, rig camera, fx camera)

Also ...I dont want the added complication of posting the two source footages.

If I needed two or more cameras... I would get additional identical ones.

I dont understand. I thought you said that this shoot was made with two cameras, one AF and the other the GH2. But then you say If I needed two or more cameras... I would get additional identical ones. So? What was the case?

Internal or external recording?
Look forward to the grabs.

Wait no longer...

Un graded frame grabs ( ex Premiere Pro CS5.5) and as they were shot.
