Never seen Alexa or Epic footage but 12 stops of DR is plenty. Can your eyes differentiate the additional stops on actual footage (versus still grabs) ? Mine can'tFrom those brief snippets, the image looks just like the C300's to my eyes - smooth, 'creamy' and organic (though obviously the actual quality will have a greater depth and flexibility to it than 8-bit 50mbps ever will).
Interesting that the DR is still the same 12-stops as the C300. I wonder how that will allow it to stack up against Alexa and Epic (which both hold a fair bit over that in DR)?

Only 12 stops for the C500? I would have expected more , f3 is 14 and Red Dragon is announced with 15.. Now specs are just specs and are we absolutely sure Red measure the same way as Canon and Sony and so..?
Did they test with the 4:4:4 S-log upgrade? As I recall, they didn't. It's said to add about 2 stops of DR.F3 is 11.1 according to the Zacuto shoot out.
