Jeff Cronenweth's work is amazing, Canon pulled out the big guns for this release... I looking forward to seeing the film and hope to hear more of his thoughts on this camera.

Those few shots shown from the film look gorgeous and clean clean clean... clean in a good way. and that's on my less than stellar laptop through vimeo compression...wow!

Pretty soon, that's the kind of quality that people will start seeing on the internet frequently. Even that highly compressed video showed you the major advantages were between whatever they shot the interviews on and the 4K stream coming out of the C500.

Good enough won't be good enough for much longer. But, a lot of us have been saying this for the last two or three years.

Despite the obviousness of the post polishing in those snippets, they look extremely pleasant to me, and have a somewhat unique texture to them. Very interested in seeing how this camera plays in the market, but far beyond, shooting with it as soon as possible. Canon and Sony are really making some interesting moves, regardless of price.

From those brief snippets, the image looks just like the C300's to my eyes - smooth, 'creamy' and organic (though obviously the actual quality will have a greater depth and flexibility to it than 8-bit 50mbps ever will).

Interesting that the DR is still the same 12-stops as the C300. I wonder how that will allow it to stack up against Alexa and Epic (which both hold a fair bit over that in DR)?

Never seen Alexa or Epic footage but 12 stops of DR is plenty. Can your eyes differentiate the additional stops on actual footage (versus still grabs) ? Mine can't

Thank you. How long did we tell the DSLR crowd that? Once the F3 came out and then the C300 it was obvious the "good enough" breed will die soon. There are so many talented people out there that can afford to at least rent a FS100/C300/F3 and soon C500 that every 5D/D800/D4 piece will seen as "interesting, but wasn´t that out of focus?".

I have just shot a basement-concert on the C300 with ISO6400 and it looks clean, sharp, organic. I can only imagine how rad it would look on a C500 which is actually a cheap camera for what it is. I won´t afford it, but I can rent it and I will know it instantly, because I own the small sister of it :D

Only 12 stops for the C500? I would have expected more , f3 is 14 and Red Dragon is announced with 15.. Now specs are just specs and are we absolutely sure Red measure the same way as Canon and Sony and so..?

F3 is 11.1 according to the Zacuto shoot out.
