Broken XLR?

Everytime I try to hook up an xlr mic to my dvx, it doesn't work. I've searched through the manual and on camera menu, but nothing. I played with the MIC/Line switches as well. I was reading somewhere that a guy had a similar problem after his dvx fell, and was talking about replacing motherboards...eek!

Any help would be appreciated, I need to have this xlr working asap.

If the mic is phantom powered, do you have the +48v switch for that channel turned on? Do you have the channel switched to the input that your XLR is plugged into? Sorry, but I'm just trying to cover all bases here.

Check out all the things HorseFilms said, and if they don't work, trying using a different XLR cable with the same mic. If you get it to work there, then obviouslly you've got something wrong with your XLR cable.
