Broken up clip?

I recently did a concert and shot a continuous clip for about 40 min. When I dumped it onto my computer, I see that it broke the file up into smaller files. It seems that they will all fit on normal size dvd now. When I try to bring into my NLE(Avid) it only finds one clip. I remember seeing it as one clip on the P2 card when reviewing it in the camera. I hope i'm clear on the problem. The files are actually seperate clips(I imagine, although I was only able to import 1). I watched them back with my media player, and the whole concert is there. So confused.

Welcome to the "spanned-clips" world of P2...!

BAse for the whole thing is FAT32 and that wont give you more then 4GB-clips.
Thats why there are several spanned clips in the end.

I dont know how Avid works with it, in Edius i have to import all panned clips,
i do select the very last one, and this gives me the complete clip in one piece in the end..!

As i got more hate than love for Avid, somebody else must help you out here..!

Yeah, I have a feeling I might need to update my Avid. I have a fairly early HD version. Thanks for the knowledge on the P2 though. Good to know.

Avid should be reassembling the pieces into one contiguous clip. You don't want to bring in all the individual pieces, you want the P2 system to automatically reassemble it into one clip. Have you verified whether the Avid clip is 40 minutes long?

I'm running Avid Xpress Pro HD v 5.1.5. I had to build a Avid MediaFiles folder and MXF and 1 etc. and drag and drop from P2 card. It's been working fine until now. I use the media tool to find the master clips on the drive, and it only finds one, and when I drag and drop in Bin, the clip was only 12 :20 long. The other files are there. I watched them in Media Player. For future reference, where should I look for best workflow.
