Broken Servo/Manual Zoom Switch

So I normally operate in manual zoom, but for a particular effect, I switched it to Servo zoom. Whenever I switch between those modes, it seems like it's not the easiest sliding mechanism, so I apply a little bit of force. But this time, when I switch it back into manual, it still stays on Servo...

...did I break my switch?

what camera do you have? The HVX200a slides pretty easy and I never had the problem you described.
